Our log cabin in Hengsttal is truly one of a kind. We deliberately chose high-quality solid wood furniture in a country house style for the interior. This not only ensures a healthy indoor climate, but also creates an atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home—a harmony that continues in the spacious natural garden: while the little ones enjoy their own adventures in the play paradise with a trampoline and playhouse, you can find your own personal island of tranquility on the sunny wooden terrace or in the hammock under the old trees.
Ground floor: Space for shared moments
Here, people laugh, live, and forget about time.
The ground floor is all about togetherness. Whether it's breakfast together at the large kitchen table, planning the next hike in the cozy solid wood corner, or a cozy movie night—this is the place where little moments become lasting memories.
The entrance area
You will feel welcome as soon as you enter. There is plenty of space in the cloakroom for your jackets, shoes, and hiking equipment. On the solid chest of drawers next to the staircase, you will find our “information center”: a careful selection of hiking maps, brochures, and useful tips for excursions and activities around the Schneeberg.
The living room
Instead of a sofa landscape, you will find the heart of genuine country house culture: a spacious solid wood seating area. There is room for the whole family here—to chat together, enjoy long game nights, or watch a movie on the smart TV in peace. It is the place where you can come together after a hike and forget about time.
The family kitchen
Our kitchen is spacious and perfectly equipped (including dishwasher, stove, oven, freezer, and refrigerator). The built-in dining table seats four people and is the perfect place to plan your day over breakfast together. The coffee machine will be filled with fresh beans before your arrival. We also provide salt, pepper, table oil, and vinegar. You don't have to worry about kitchen rolls, cleaning cloths, garbage bags, dishwashing liquid, etc. We prepare all these important little things for you so that you can enjoy your vacation from the very beginning!
The bathroom
The bathroom with window is bright and cheerful, equipped with a shower, sink, toilet, and washing machine. Hand towels, bath towels, toilet paper, and soap are included in the price and will be provided for you.
Upper floor: Retreat & flexibility
Space to rest, time to dream.
The wooden staircase leads to the sleeping areas, which exude a particularly cozy atmosphere thanks to the exposed roof trusses and lots of natural wood.
Bedroom 1 (panoramic room)
This spacious room is a real all-rounder for 2 to 4 people. It has a comfortable double bed (160x200) and a cozy couch that can be converted into another double bed if required.
Highlight: A private balcony with sweeping views of the valley.
Work & View: For those who need to work for a short time, the fold-out desk offers a workspace with what is probably the most beautiful view of the Hengsttal valley.
Amenities: A chest of drawers for your clothes and your own TV for cozy evenings.
Bedroom 2 (The Family Nest)
A bright, honest bedroom that is ideal for children or a small group of up to 4 people.
Sleeping: Equipped with two double beds (each 160x200), this room offers plenty of space for dreaming.
View: The window looks directly out onto the peaceful garden and the adjacent forest edges. A chest of drawers provides ample storage space for your luggage.
Restroom - Upper floor
There is a second toilet with a sink on the upper floor. Here, too, there is a towel, toilet paper, and soap for our guests.

Sunny wooden terrace: Equipped with comfortable seating, it is the perfect place for breakfast outdoors or a convivial evening.
Shady spots & retreats: Thanks to the old trees, you will always find a cool spot even on hot days.
Pure relaxation: Unwind in our deck chairs or retreat with a book to the hammock, which is available for you in a particularly quiet corner of the garden.
Barbecue fun: A large gas grill is available for your culinary evenings.
Adventures for little ones: a garden to explore
Here, children can run around, laugh, and play—far away from traffic.
Our garden is a real playground paradise and offers an incredible amount of space for playing tag or hide and seek:
- Our own playground: Equipped with a swing, slide, trampoline, and sandpit.
- The playhouse: A little retreat for little adventurers.
- The toy box: Next to the garden shed, you will find a box filled to the brim with a wide variety of toys (balls, badminton equipment, etc.) that are free to use.
Property - Parking lot
- Parking: Large private parking lot directly at the house (space for at least 3–4 cars).
- Access: Accessible via a private driveway—complete privacy guaranteed.
- Security: Family-friendly, fenced-in grounds in a completely quiet location.
