From gentle walking trails with magnificent views around the nearby town center to a ride on the traditional Schneebergbahn railway or the chairlift in Losenheim – you will be delighted by the diversity of our region.

Forget the car! Your hiking adventure starts right at your garden fence. Whether it's a leisurely stroll through the idyllic Hengsttal valley or a challenging climb to the summit of the Schneeberg mountain – there's a route to suit every fitness level.
The classic: hike along the railway line or directly through the Hengsttal valley and enjoy the cool forest air.
Refreshment tip: stop off at the Hengsthütte after about an hour. Enjoy the wonderful regional cuisine or try the famous Schneebergbuchteln at the Baumgartner station!
Pure nostalgia – the Schneeberg Railway
A special highlight is our direct neighbor: the traditional Schneebergbahn railway. Watch the “Salamander trains” from the terrace or hop on yourself at Hengsttal station (5 min. walk). In just 40 minutes, the railway will take you comfortably to the highest mountain in Lower Austria (2,076 m). An experience for young and old that is sure to remain in your memory. With the Puchberg guest pass, which is included in your booking, you only pay the reduced price.
Discover Puchberg am Schneeberg
The center of Puchberg is just a few minutes away. There you will find everything you need for your daily needs as well as cultural highlights:
- Spa gardens & lake: Ideal for relaxing walks.

Family fun & action: The Losenheim chairlift
Just a short distance from the center of Puchberg (easily accessible by regional bus towards Losenheim), the Schneeberg chairlift awaits you. It is the ideal starting point for a day full of exercise and mountain air:
Puchi's World & the Stamp Adventure: An absolute highlight for children! Grab your stamp pass at the valley station. Various play stations are waiting to be discovered along the hiking trails near the chairlift and on the Wunderwiese. Those who hike diligently and collect all the stamps will receive a small reward at the end – the perfect motivation for little mountain enthusiasts!
Leisurely hiking: Those who prefer a more relaxed pace can use the lift as an aid to ascend to popular huts such as the Edelweisshütte or the Almreserlhaus without having to tackle any steep climbs. Enjoy a traditional snack there while you let your gaze wander over the valley.
